Born in Germany in 1964, DJ Sven Väth is recognised for cultivating the underground electronic music scene not just in Germany but also in Ibiza. Väth’s Monday Cocoon parties at Amnesia were key in creating the unmistakeable sound of Ibiza at a time when trance and commercial music had just started to dominate the island. Sven Väth continues to be a purist proponent of vinyl, using just two decks and a mixer during his marathon DJ sets.
