Applying Artificial Intelligence to Radiology: The Technology Behind Our Research Projects
Following the success of the first “Thales Media Day” press conference on cybersecurity, a second took place on Thursday 24th January in Montreal , this time focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI), one of the four pillars of Thales’ digital transformation.
At the event, Sebastien Gorges, Technical Director of Radiology in the DPL team (Digital Product Line at Moirans), explained the role of AI in radiology and discussed the progression of our research projects in this area.
Two “Proof of Concepts” were also presented:
• One project, jointly led by teams from our CMT entity in Israel and teams from Moirans, aims to enable the autonomy of health professionals in acquiring images, thanks to the integrated AI in our imaging solution ArtPix™EZ2GO.
• A second project, the result of collaboration between the teams at Moirans and CortAIx, is working towards reducing X-ray doses whilst maintaining a high quality image with the help of AI.
This press conference happened on site at CortAIx, an entity of Thales dedicated to artificial intelligence, and was an opportunity to showcase our innovation in radiology, and to highlight how we can improve the daily lives of health care professionals and their patients.
Journalists from all over the world attended the event, making it an excellent opportunity to promote the work we’re doing in the radiology sector. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date on the media coverage!
