•   Singapore Land Transport Authority (LTA) adopts Thales’ Gates for Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) lines.
•   Designed with contactless technologies, the upgraded Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) gates will make the public transport system more efficient and inclusive by giving a smoother journey to all commuters.
•   Thales will modernise and standardise 1,350 AFC gates for MRT lines over the next 7 years, including Singapore’s oldest North-South & East-West Lines and the upcoming Jurong Region Line for more than 2 million daily passengers.

A NEW STEP FORWARD FOR THE AUTONOMOUS TRAIN IN FRANCE

Two and a half years after a consortium was launched to develop the prototype of an autonomous regional train in France, SNCF and its partners Alstom, Bosch, Spirops, Thales and the Railenium Technology Research Institute are putting their test train into operation.
At the start of the year, a Regio 2N regional train was modified and equipped for the purpose of the trials by the Alstom site in Crespin (formerly Bombardier). Various sensors, cameras, radars and lidars (laser detection) were fitted to collect essential data for the project.

Thales to modernize Brescia Metro

• Brescia is a city in the region of Lombardy in Northern Italy. With a population of more than 200,000, it is the second largest city in the region and the fourth of northwest Italy. The city is the administrative capital of the Province of Brescia, one of the largest in Italy, with over 1,200,000 inhabitants.
• The Brescia Metro covers 17 stations plus 1 depot, 14 kilometers of route, with a fleet of 18 trains and serves the urban area by connecting the capital from north to south for more than 50,000 daily passengers.
• This new contract includes train to ground communication, video surveillance and security systems.
• The level of passenger safety will be improved thanks to the new broadband data connection system along the metro route and the "real-time" transmission of images from CCTV cameras.
