Rome, 1st June 2021 - Today, the Director General of the European Space Agency (ESA), Josef Aschbacher, visited the Thales Alenia Space site in Rome, where he was welcomed by the CEO of Thales Alenia Space, Hervé Derrey, and Massimo Comparini, CEO of Thales Alenia Space Italia, as well as by the highest representatives of the French-Italian space joint venture shareholders, Patrice Caine, Chairman and CEO of Thales and Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo.

EUROPEAN COOPERATION IN DEFENSE - OCCAR CONTRACTS EUROSAM FOR SAMP/T NG SYSTEMS

The contract for the development of the SAMP/T NG (New Generation) for France and Italy has been signed today at OCCAR premises in France (Paris area) in the presence of the French Air and Space Force staff, the Italian Army staff, the OCCAR Director and National representatives of the French Armament General Directorate (DGA) and of the Italian Armament Directorate (SGD). OCCAR has awarded the contract, by delegation of DGA and SGD, to the Franco-Italian consortium eurosam; backed by its three shareholders MBDA France, MBDA Italy and Thales.

Thales and Gemalto are granted regulatory clearance by the European Commission
