15 partnerships supported by the Thales Solidarity Charitable Fund
- In 2020, 11 solidarity projects sponsored by Group employees were selected to meet local and societal challenges. They will provide support to more than 2,600 children and adults in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe over the year 2020-21.
- Thales Solidarity supports three other social innovation projects in France: D茅fi Insertion, Agir pour la jeunesse, Tech for Good Enthusiasts. The objective? To help job seekers, young school dropouts and charities to develop their skills and capacities.
- During the 2019-2020 school year, the Fund has continued the partnership initiated in 2015 by the Thales Foundation around the pilot programme 鈥渓es Savanturiers du Num茅rique et des Technologies鈥. In 5 years, the programme has involved 3,970 young people, 183 teachers, and 99 volunteer mentors from Thales.
Launch of the engagement platform
- In order to more actively engage the Group鈥檚 employees, Thales Solidarity launched a platform that gathers various engagement opportunities. Through this platform, employees can get involved in the payroll giving programme (available only in France), the call for projects of the Fund, and the volunteering missions which are updated throughout the year. They can apply directly online and find program news.
- In France, a first volunteering campaign was launched in March 2020 to support health workers, assist the most vulnerable, provide remote tutoring and help teachers use digital technology.
- Volunteering missions, accessible remotely, have also been proposed to employees throughout the year for the benefit of non-profit organisations supported by the Fund, but also for events such as the European Week for Sustainable Development or on Giving Tuesday, the international day dedicated to solidarity and commitment.
Payroll giving programme : when a few cents make a difference
In 2020, more than 5,000 Thales employees in France participated in the and contributed to donate 鈧364,729 to 9 charities in accordance with employees' choices. The global fundraising over the last five years has amounted to more than 鈧1.35 million, half of which came from the Group鈥檚 contribution to match employee donations.
On the occasion of Giving Tuesday, the international day of Solidarity and Commitment, employees have once again displayed their generosity: more than 300 new donors* and volunteers got involved.
In order to strengthen Thales Solidarity鈥檚 actions in favour of the environment, the non-profit organisation C艙ur de For锚t, which works for the preservation of forest ecosystems, has been added as a new beneficiary of the payroll giving scheme.
