Thales is headquartered in New Delhi and has other operational offices and sites spread across Noida, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, among others. Over 1600 employees are working with Thales and its joint ventures in India.
Thales has formed various co-operative partnerships with public and private sector industries, bringing in its expertise in delivering high-end technology solutions, like with Bharat electronics Ltd (BEL) - dedicated to radars, Samtel 鈥 dedicated to military avionics and Reliance Aerostructures Ltd. for electronic warfare and radar.
With over 75 local supply chain partners in the country, engaged in its global supply chain across defence and civil markets, Thales has been transforming the supply chain ecosystem in the country in preparation for the execution of defence contracts.
Thales also has two Engineering Competency Centres (ECC) in India. The ECC in Bengaluru focuses on hardware, software and systems engineering capabilities for both the civil and defence sectors, serving global needs. Currently, this centre is focusing on its activities in defence, aerospace and transportation businesses. The other ECC is in Delhi NCR region, where the one in Noida is focused on the Digital Identity and Security business of Thales, while the one in Gurugram focuses on real-time big data analytics.
The ECC and network of our local supply chain partners, help Thales to continue its contribution towards job creation in India. With current headcount of over 1000 R&D engineers, we are targeting to ramp up the total count of engineers to 3,000 (Thales and its partners) in the next 3-5 years.
