What can you expect in this profession?
The Business Administration - Industry degree program is very versatile in practice and trains students at a high level for specialist and management tasks in the national and international environment. Growing dynamics, complexity and globalization of modern business life require technically competent, flexible and internationally experienced specialists and managers. Therefore, the degree program takes full account of current developments in the economy and also offers you the opportunity for an optional theoretical or practical assignment abroad.
With the generalist orientation, you will acquire broad-based specialist knowledge in the first four semesters and gain an overview of the diverse business areas and specialist fields. In the last two semesters, you will choose in-depth subjects according to your preferences, in which you will specialize. The program is rounded off with a wide range of courses in social, communication and language skills.
You will get to know the versatile fields of activity in our commercial departments, experiencing the theory you have learned in its practical implementation.
Which fields of activity are relevant for you?
As a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration - Industry, you will be employed in the commercial areas of the company in specialist departments such as finance, controlling, corporate communications, purchasing, human resources, production control, materials management (supply chain) or in the area of offers and projects.
The degree program trains you to become a business generalist with comprehensive management skills and in-depth specialist knowledge in your chosen field. You will not only know how a company functions from purchasing to sales and from financing to personnel management. You will also be able to solve a wide variety of business management problems across the board and successfully manage projects. This means that you are ideally equipped for typical management, departmental and project management functions. You will be able to take on responsible specialist and management positions in almost all areas of the company.

What qualifications do you need to have?
- General higher education entrance qualification ("A levels") or corresponding subject-related higher education entrance qualification
- Basic mathematical understanding, at least grade 3
- Organizational skills
- Confident handling of computers and MS Office
- Good knowledge of German (C1 level) and English (ideally grade 2)
- Team spirit, open-mindedness and sociability
- Motivation, initiative and commitment
- Reliability, sense of responsibility and perseverance

Facts and Figures about the dual study program

Duration of studies: 6 semesters = 3 years

Start of studies in the winter semester (October 1st)

Application deadline: approx. 15 months before the start of studies

Dual full-time study: alternation between theory phases at the university and practical work in the company every three months

Optionally, a practical phase abroad at one of our international locations and/or a theory phase abroad at one of the DHBW's partner universities is possible

Accreditation: intensive study program with 210 credit points
