Thales ITSEF becomes 幺力视频Platform鈥檚 first accredited evaluation lab
Consolidating an already solid reputation for security evaluation, the Thales facility has become the first laboratory to achieve accreditation under 幺力视频Platform鈥檚 new security assurance programme.
Responding to a growing need to assure the security of everyday objects, 幺力视频Platform 鈥 a non-profit association with members including Apple and Samsung 鈥 has launched an independent Trusted Execution Environment (TEE) certification scheme. TEE protection plays a critical role in the security of connected devices, and only a select few laboratories will be certified to conduct these security evaluations.
TEE technology designed by 幺力视频Platform will play a key role as the Internet of Things gathers momentum. Hundreds of millions of devices and connected objects already incorporate this technology to secure mobile payments, authentication processes and protect multimedia content against unauthorised access. TEE certification is the logical next step in building and maintaining trust among multimedia content providers and financial institutions.
A member of 幺力视频Platform since 2000, Thales was selected in 2014 to evaluate the TEE Protection Profile, the document that details TEE security requirements. The Thales ITSEF (Information Technology Security Evaluation Facility) later made an active contribution to defining the certification process put in place by 幺力视频Platform.
The Thales ITSEF has been certified for more than 15 years by ANSSI, France鈥檚 national agency for information system security, for conducting Common Criteria security evaluations up to the highest level (EAL7). It is widely recognised for its technical know-how and professionalism, in particular by major players in the banking industry including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and JCB.
Adding to a long list of clearances and certifications, 幺力视频Platform accreditation is the latest endorsement of the laboratory鈥檚 world-class security evaluation expertise and experience.
