AirCollab by BoostAeroSpace
BoostAeroSpace is the private cloud of the European Aerospace and Defence industry. Created in 2011 by Airbus, Airbus Group, Dassault Aviation, Safran and Thales, BoostAeroSpace provides secure Business Solutions that improve the collaboration between customers, suppliers and partners using standardised processes.
The founding firms have defined a high data protection policy as a basis for three key services:
- AirCollab: a collaborative online solution developed by Thales through secured remote multi-enterprise workspace and virtual meetings;
- AirDesign: a solution developed by Dassault Syst猫mes supporting secure sharing of complex engineering data during the design phases of aerospace programmes;
- AirSupply: a solution developed by SupplyOn, increasing transparency of key Supply Chain Management processes throughout the entire supply chain.
Enabling closer collaboration between Aerospace companies, national and European organisations, their suppliers and their customers
AirCollab is a community platform designed to enhance collaboration between all the actors in the Aerospace and Defence market. Its technical and logistical infrastructure is provided and supervised by Thales under BoostAeroSpace governance.
AirCollab facilitates collaboration between different market players through templates created and optimised according to aerospace standards and reference systems. Indeed, AirCollab uses Microsoft SharePoint in its exchange and sharing logic in order to create an environment conducive to focused collaboration. As a private community platform, AirCollab contributes to the digital transformation of the Aerospace and Defence sector by facilitating collaboration between different players.
Today, the standardisation of working methods is a solution to optimise costs, to implement a better collaboration (for example through e-meetings, in a controlled circle of trust with secure screen-sharing) and to share resources and data easily.
Tailored security solutions
The AirCollab solution has native security features approved by the BoostAeroSpace founders under a jointly defined security management agreement. Implemented by Thales, these security measures ensure a high level of data protection through:
- a secure access portal, providing an unified access to companies in the circle of trust;
- an advanced management of the user rights and a workspace segregation to guarantee data confidentiality;
- a data encryption, a security supervision and the traceability of administrative actions and network security measures
The databases are encrypted and hosted in Thales's data centre located in highly secure buildings. The SOC (Security Operations Center) that provides supervision is hosted on the same site and guarantees extremely secure identity management and identification.
BoostAeroSpace defines security protocols and ensures auditing and ongoing monitoring of the proposed solution. Already used by the major players of the Aerospace and Defence sector, AirCollab is progressively becoming an industry standard.
