AusRAIL Plus Conference and Exhibition
Come and visit the Thales stand (#107) at AusRail Plus 2019.
This year we are showcasing our Digital Rail capabilities.
We are demonstrating many systems brought together with an interactive touch table to the full scope of our offer.
About AusRAIL Plus
AusRAIL PLUS 2019 features Australasia’s largest rail exhibition running alongside the conference with over 400 exhibiting organisations.
With the theme, ‘Delivering Growth; Creating Opportunity; Embracing Technology’, AusRAIL PLUS 2019 will attract over 900 senior attendees to the conference program which includes plenary sessions, technical streams, live polling sessions and forums with well-respected industry leaders and CEOs.

ARAMIS
ARAMIS (Advanced Railway Automation, Management and Information System) is Thales’ Traffic Management System that provides railway operators with the means to monitor and control train operations efficiently.
ARAMIS’ dispatching module provides the functionality required to easily make schedule modifications to trains during operations from a planning perspective. Being able to issue dispatching actions rapidly allows dispatchers to minimise response times to incidents and delays, ensuring the smooth operation of the rail network.
ARAMIS’ key features include the ability to forecast the state of the network and detect any conflicts that may arise between trains and their operating environment. These features revolutionise the application of traffic management systems, from being a reactive system to one that is able to predict and actively prevent or minimise delays to the rail network.
ARAMISâ„¢ train traffic management systems safely and efficiently guide more than 50,000 trains per day on over 100,000 kilometres of track, in 16 countries.

Lite4ce
Thales smart sensing solution that will transform the railway industry.
Lite4ceâ„¢sensor is based on Fibre Bragg Grating technology which utilizes wavelengths of reflected light to transmit signals.
The sensor is passive, small, mounted to the web of the rail. It measures tiny and transitory deformations in the rail caused by the weight of passing train wheels and transforms them into optical signals. Each deformation has a unique digital fingerprint.
Thales has developed algorithms, which turn the sensor signals into information about the vehicles passing over the sensor, such as: vehicle location, speed, load, the applications are unlimited. Lite4ce™ harness’s the power of smart sensors and big data to lower LCC and provide a basis to make better, faster decisions.
100% fibre optical — no copper cables, no outdoor electronics, no lighting and overvoltage impacts
Zero maintenance — no adjustment required, no dismounting while tamping und grinding

TIRIS
TIRIS is Thales’ Big Data Analytics platform for the transportation industry. It takes advantage of technologies such as the Industrial Internet of Things, which offers connectivity between assets, cloud-based solutions, which offers storage and processing capabilities, and data analytics with artificial intelligence, to create insights from small and big data sources. This technology agnostic foundation is used to support the implementation of predictive maintenance and asset intelligence techniques. This digital product enables Thales to offer a range of services – from advisory, insights, data science, delivery of Proof-of-Concepts, predictive maintenance and operations support.
TIRIS is part of Thales Transportation Asset Management Digital Services offer and its goal is to support the railway industry in their maintenance and operations challenges by:
- Improving operational efficiency and control total cost of ownership
- Meeting stringent safety and service criteria in transport
- Minimizing service interruptions as well as train downtimes

NAIA
NAIA is Thales digital service which has been specifically designed to understand the journeys of passengers. By using data from ticketing machines and tap-in and tap-out barriers, the application runs a unique algorithm to recreate the journey of every single passenger on a network. The information is then used to calculate three main passenger experience performance indicators:
- Waiting Time
- Platform Occupancy
- Train Occupancy

ETCS
ETCS is the core signalling and train control component of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). ETCS continuously calculates a safe maximum speed for each train, with cab signalling for the driver and on-board systems that take control if the permissible speed is exceeded. Thales offers a complete portfolio of ETCS solutions for turnkey projects in the same way as for green field or brown field installations.
19 000 km of tracks in 42 countries use Thales ETCS in the world

SelTracâ„¢ G7
SelTracâ„¢ Generation 7 (G7) is the latest generation of the world-leading automatic train control solution from Thales. The system relies on the latest technologies to significantly reduce operation and maintenance costs, while maintaining passenger safety.
