Thales in Canada celebrated its annual International Women's Day event with guest speakers across Canada!
Last Thursday, March 17th, 2016, Thales in Canada celebrated International Women's Day by having special guest speakers across all our offices.
Marie Lemay, Deputy Minister/President of the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec was video conferenced from our Montreal offices to all our other sites, followed by presentations from our other guest speakers. Toronto had Susan Reed Tanaka, Chief Capital Officer of the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) speak and video conferenced to Vancouver. Quebec City hosted Natalie Quirion General Manager of the Qu茅bec Metro High Tech Park, and Ottawa hosted Lieutenant-General C. Whitecross. OMM, CD.
All our inspiring guest speakers shared their life experiences, lessons learned over their careers and advice for women in the workforce as well as life in general. Our guests also gave those who joined the event an opportunity to ask any questions during the Q&A session where they graciously answered questions and offered their insights. We had about 150 men and women participate across all our offices. Thank you to all those who came and supported the event and making this year鈥檚 International Women鈥檚 Day a success.
Mariam Saleh, former Thales employee received an award from the Ontario Minister responsible for Women's issues as a way to celerbate International Women's week , in recognition of her exceptional and remarkable contributions to the visually impaired in York region.
