Smart Cities according to the Joint Research Unit in Urban Sciences (UMRsu)
The March 2016 issue of the magazine Action Canada-France (*) of the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Canada focuses on the theme of smart and digital city. This issue is mainly focused on the characteristics of Smart Cities and the solutions implemented by cities to meet the energy, environmental and social challenges they face.
Daniel Lafond and Martin Rivest, respectively Specialist in cognitive engineering and human factors and Technological innovations manager at Thales in Quebec City, wrote an article on page 12-13 on the urban laboratory of Quebec. This article details the activities of the Joint Research Unit in Urban Sciences, UMRsu in urban safety, traffic management and public transport, and the analysis of mega data or big data in general.
