Australian SME Infostream wins international contract with Thales

INFOSTREAM works with Thales to provide the heart of Belgium鈥檚 national emergency services paging system ASTRID.

Belgium鈥檚 fire brigades and emergency services use a special paging system to call out its volunteers. In 2015, this paging service, called ASTRID, required a major upgrade.

Thales Belgium won the upgrade contract to provide a new, modern paging system infrastructure and chose Sydney based Infostream as a key supplier, awarding them a multimillion dollar contract.

The ASTRID upgrade program finalised this year and will move into its through life support phase.  Infostream will continue to support Thales Belgium with a new seven year support contract.

鈥淚nfostream is proud to supply core infrastructure to this project and assist Thales to provide a critical service to Belgium and its volunteer firefighters,鈥 said Infostream CTO and Executive Chairman, Paul Schlusser. 鈥淭his project extends the global reach of Infostream in similar emergency systems across the world.鈥

The Belgium system uses Infostream鈥檚 third generation simulcast technology, called 鈥淐ypher 3鈥. Cypher 3 incorporates recent innovations derived from the company鈥檚 extensive experience in delivering mission critical systems.

Infostream has been a supplier of emergency services paging technology for over 25 years and is internationally recognised, holding multiple design awards.
